COMPACT PCI

A CompactPCI (cPCI) system is an industrial system based on the 3U or 6U Eurocard format where all cards are connected to a passive PCI backplane. The connection pinout is standard and is documented and standardised, published by the PCI Industrial Computers Manufacturers Group consortium. (PICMG). One of the great advantages of CompactPCI lies in its robustness, reliability, as well as its EMC design and its excellent ventilation design. The connectors and their electrical rules allow up to 8 cards to coexist in one system, with multiple systems bridged together.
